Project Description
Step 1 : Preheat the oven and prepare the salmon
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). This is the temperature at which you’ll bake the salmon.
Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture. This helps the walnut crust adhere better.
Step 2 : Coat salmon with walnut oil
Drizzle a small amount of walnut oil over each salmon fillet. Use your hands or a brush to evenly coat the fillets with the oil. The walnut oil adds a rich, nutty flavor to the salmon.
Step 3 : Prepare the walnut-breadcrumb mixture and coat salmon
In a shallow dish or plate, combine crushed walnuts and breadcrumbs. Season the mixture with a pinch of salt and pepper. You can adjust the seasoning to your taste.
Press the oiled side of each salmon fillet into the walnut-breadcrumb mixture. Ensure that the mixture adheres to the fillet, forming a crust. You can gently press the mixture onto the salmon to help it stick.
Step 4: Place on baking sheet and bake the salmon
Place the coated salmon fillets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or lightly greased to prevent sticking.
Put the baking sheet with the salmon in the preheated oven. Bake for approximately 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked to your desired level of doneness. The internal temperature of the salmon should reach 145°F (63°C).
Step 5: Serve
Once the salmon is cooked, remove it from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute within the fish. Serve the walnut-crusted salmon hot.
You can garnish the dish with fresh herbs, lemon wedges, or a drizzle of additional walnut oil for extra flavor and presentation. This walnut-crusted salmon is a delightful and flavorful dish that’s perfect for a healthy and tasty meal. Enjoy!
